A study tool for board candidates

Practice deliberately.
Read the rationale.
Find the gap.

Built for candidates who can’t afford to waste a study hour. Lumen surfaces the topics you keep losing marks on — AFK and ADAT today, ACJ and INBDE next — with rationales tied to published competency guidelines and a clinician’s signature on every item.

Independent. Built by a Canadian dentist and her partner. Not endorsed by NDEB, ADA, or JCNDE — and we don’t promise passing scores.

01 — Sit a real mock

Twenty items, timed.

Board-style stems, blueprint-weighted across topics, with mark-for-review and a navigator. Free, no card required, finishes inside thirty minutes.

02 — Read the why

Rationales, not vibes.

Every item explains why the key is right and why each distractor is wrong, with citations to AAE, AAP/EFP, AAOMS, ICCC, and the AFK/ADAT competency blueprints.

03 — Close the gap

Restudy the weak topics.

Your scoring breaks down by topic so the domain you keep losing marks on rises to the top. Run targeted 25-item sets until the curve flattens.

What you get

A study tool, not a question dump.

  • 20-question diagnostic, free. No sign-up wall. Ends with a topic-by-topic gap analysis.
  • 25 / 100 / 200-item mocks. Topic practice, half-mocks, and full-length 200-item sittings that match the official AFK and ADAT lengths.
  • Per-topic gap analysis. See exactly which domains keep costing you marks — before the real sitting does.
  • Cited rationales. Every key and every distractor explained, with the guideline reference next to it.
  • Mark-for-review and a navigator. The same mechanics you’ll have on exam day, not a flashcard app pretending.
  • Clinician-signed items. A licensed dentist signs off on every question before it goes live.

Editorial standards

Clinician review, every time.

Bad prep questions teach you the wrong instinct. Ours pass three filters before you see them: drafted against a published competency domain, screened on clinical plausibility, distractor quality and citation presence, then signed off by a licensed clinician. If an item can’t survive that, it doesn’t reach you.

We do not reproduce or solicit recalled exam questions. Items are framed against publicly available competency guidelines — never proprietary content. Independent platform, built by a Canadian dentist and her partner; not affiliated with NDEB, ADA, or JCNDE.
